Tubular Reactor

Tubular reactor is a continuous operation reactor with tubular shape and large aspect ratio.

This kind of reactor can be very long. For example, the reactor tube length of propylene dimerization is measured in kilometers.

The structure of the reactor can be single tube or multiple tubes in parallel; It can be an empty tube, such as a tubular cracking furnace, or a filled tube filled with granular catalyst to carry out heterogeneous catalytic reaction, such as tubular fixed bed reactor. Generally, when the reaction flow is in a turbulent state, the aspect ratio of the empty pipe is greater than 50; When the ratio of the length of the filling section to the particle size is greater than 100 (gas) or 200 (liquid), the flow of the material can be approximately regarded as horizontal push flow.
