Reboiler

Reboiler is mostly used with fractionator: reboiler is a special heat exchanger that can exchange heat and have vaporization space at the same time. The material level in the reboiler is at the same height as that in the fractionator. The liquid phase is supplied from the bottom line of the tower into the reboiler. Usually, 25-30% of the liquid phase is vaporized in the reboiler. The vaporized two-phase flow is sent back to the fractionator, the gas phase components in the return tower pass upward through the tray, and the liquid phase components fall back to the bottom of the tower.

The material expands or even vaporizes when heated in the reboiler, and the density becomes smaller, so as to leave the vaporization space and return to the tower smoothly. The gas-liquid two-phase in the tower will pass upward through the tray, and the liquid phase will fall to the bottom of the tower. Due to the effect of static pressure difference, the tower bottom will continuously supplement the evaporated liquid level.
